NBL1 & QSL

The RedCity Roar Basketball Association will compete in the¬† inaugural NBL1 North conference of the national NBL1 competition in 2021.¬† Covid 19 restrictions caused the cancellation of of the NBL ONE¬† competition in 2020,¬† and all of the south east Queensland NBL1¬† clubs¬† nominated in the Queensland Basketball League¬† making it the premier basketball competition¬† outside of a Brisbane Bullets game. The RedCity Roar were able to field competitive teams and produce a first class game day experience for fans. Both the men’s and women’s teams made the playoffs with our men playing in the grand final at the “Den” against the 2019 champions, the Brisbane Capitals. Unfortunately the fairytale ending did not come to fruition with the Capitals taking the championship.

Off the back of the  successful 2020 season the RedCity Roar nominated and was successful in being accepted into the 2021 NBL1 North conference. The NBL1  will start the weekend of May 14th and end September 12th & 13th  with  a national finals series.

Underpinning the NBL1 program sits the QSL program which  provides younger players the opportunity to develop from junior to senior ranks as they attempt to secure an NBL1 roster position.

The pathway from beginner to semi professional is now complete!

The RedCity Roar will be competing against 13 other Associations for the NBL1 North Conference Championship.
