RedCity Roar to play the first ever NBL1 game in Darwin!

NBL1 tips off in the NT today when our RedCity Roar teams play NBL1 newcomers, the Darwin Salties! Fans can watch the game live and free by down loading the NBL1 app!

The Simple Promo Co RedCity Roar women have shown some great preseason form with a couple of wins over Brisbane and Ipswich. Import Mia Loyd has provided a foundation from which the team has been able to build on and Ari Moorer has given great leadership and direction for what is still a very young team. Mia and Ari arrived early in preseason and the team has been able to put more hours on the court as a unit. Jaylen Cooper has been taken her game to another level after her rookie season last year with a couple of dominant displays in preseason. The club, however, is sweating on a FIBA clearance for Jaylen to arrive before the Salties game.

The Plasmaide RedCity Roar men have had a little less time to work together with 6'10" 209cm forward Jarett Croff only arriving last Friday after his season finished in Finland. Guard Nelson Larkins suffered a wrist injury in a preseason game against Logan Thunder but is expected to play in Darwin. Spencer Parker will be a player to watch for the Roar this season. He has a well balanced game and at his size it makes him a tough match up for opposing teams. A likely match up that Salties forward Josh Spears will have to take!

The Roar will be without Jayden Hodgson. His Sydney Kings defeated Illawarra Hawks in the first game in a best of three series NBL semi final matchup last night. Game two is on Sunday and the the decider if needed on Tuesday! If the Kings progress we may not see him in Plasmaide singlet for another week!

There is a chance Jayden may be ready for the Roar's first home game against Seahawks if the Illawarra Hawks can take the next two games from the Kings!

Tickets are available now for next Saturdays game! Treat your mum and take her to the game as a Mother Day warm up event!
