The RedCity Roar U16 boys teams are in their final preparations for the State Championships to be held at the Coomera Indoor Sports Centre, (behind Dreamworld) from the 7th -10th of April.
The Roar team, fresh off a strong performance (silver medalists) in the SQJBC regional competition, will tip off proceedings with an 8.00am game against the Townsville Heat on Court 3. The boys have performed extremely well under Coach Darryl White who has the boys roaring at the right end of the season, hungry for a result!
Their seeding has them in Pool A, up against Townville Heat , Cairns Marlins, Northside Wizards , Gold Coast Rollers (who they played in SQJBC final) and host association, North Gold Coast Seahawks. After the pool games the top two teams will cross over with the teams in the other Pool B in the semi finals and winners progress to the State Championship game!
Our Pride team is in Division 2 in Pool C with Brisbane Capitals Silver, Townsville Lightning and Southern District Titans.
The Lions and Prowlers teams will battle it out in Division 4 . The Lions will play SWM Pirates White, Northside Wizards 4, Maranoa Heat and Rockhampton Missiles. The Prowlers will play SWM Pirates Red, Hervey Bay Hurricanes, Southern Districts Trojans Red and South Sunshine Coast Rip Green in their pool games and then cross over for medals and rankings!
Our U16 girls teams will start their State Championship tournament from 12th - 15th April a in Toowoomba! Check back here for wraps ups for the boys and preview for the girls tournament.
