Covid Update!

Getting closer!

Lifting of restrictions has been brought forward from June 12 to 12.00 noon today!

We are hopeful we can return to the courts very soon.

We are waiting on further clarification through Basketball Queensland’s discussions with the Queensland Government and our venue owners as to the number of participants allowed per venue and per court.

When we know where the goal posts are, we will be ready to go with compliance, to ensure the safety of our members and their families.

What to expect:

  • Limited numbers per court or venue (social distancing)
  • Non contact activities only
  • Must bring own basketball and sanitize ball and hands on entry and exit
  • Separate entry and exit points for venues/courts
  • No entry if unwell
  • Sign in/sign out
  • Use of amenities restricted
  • A Bio Security Officer to ensure compliance
  • Change over period between activities

Thanks for your patience!

FAQ’s

  1.  If I am a current member will I need to pay the registration fee for membership for this season?  A. No, if you have paid your registration fee recently you are a member for 365 days from time of payment and will be covered by insurance until that period ends. You will be sent a renewal email by the SportsTG system prior to the expiry date.
  2. We live at Redland Bay but there is no established club based here yet, how does my child join? A. At the junior sign on days there will be six clubs you can sign up to in SportsTG. At Sign- on three desks will be manned by the our established clubs Bayside Basketball(Cleveland), Capalaba Wildcats and Wellington Point Kings. There will be three other desks you can sign up to and they will be managed by the RedCity Roar until we have clubs established in those areas.
  3. If  we live in Wellington Point does that mean my child  has to play for the Wellington Point Kings? A. No, you can play where ever you want, however we are mindful that we need to build a healthy competitive club structure and would encourage people to join teams/locations closest to them.
  4. My child is new to basketball how do I register and pay? A. You can register on the links provided on this page and follow instructions.
  5. Can I set up a payment plan? A. Yes, the clubs have payment plan arrangements but  preferred payment up front. Any RedCity Roar administered teams/locations  can use our EZYPAY system. Best to ask  the clubs on sign on day or contact them directly if they have that facility or join a RedCity Roar administered club at Alexandra Hills, Victoria Point/Redland Bay or Bayview/Thornlands.

RedCity Roar now has Ezypay!

Payment plans can be easily created to suit your budget. Simply, let us the know the amount and how often you want to pay and we will send you a link!

Junior Team Lists and GameDay App

Welcome to the very first junior season under the RedCity Roar banner.  Thank you for your patience in the changeover process. We have moved all our processes into the SportsTG platform which has been a challenging task. There have been a few intricacies with the system that we are still learning but we believe it will help  with our communications. Many thanks to Joe Doyle  from Bayside Basketball in helping enter all the data into the database and creating our draws.

*Please note that we do not have access to Cleveland DSHS for Friday 11th October and Friday 25th of October so games  will be played on Saturday at Redlands PCYC for those rounds.

Click here to see team lists for next term’s competitions.

We want to provide a challenging competition for all, so where possible, we have made two divisions, based on results from the previous season.  We have, for the most part kept players in existing teams. We do have the ability to move players and have received  a few requests to change teams, if you see an error, please let us know.  In February 2020 we will be  restructuring our  teams as we move towards a club system for the July 2020 season.

Girls Competitions

The major changes from last season will be  the teams in the girls competitions.  We have the beginnings of a healthy competition on Saturdays for U11 girls and U13 girls. We are only a few teams away from offering two divisions in each age group. We have made some adjustments with our U15 girls to play up and down (please check team lists for U13 girls & U19 GWG). For the older girls we have an U19 Girls with Game  competition on Friday evening. Our focus over the next three years is to increase participation in our women’s program as  we build towards entry into QBL/NBL North in 2023.

We expect there will be  some growing pains as we  move to our new system.  If you have any questions, experience any problems  or have some feedback  we are anxious to hear from you, please email gm@redcityroar.com.au

GameDay App

The GameDay App will allow you keep track of your games times and keep you updated on any changes that may occur from time to time in the draw. For information in how to download the GameDay App and create an account please  click here.  We suggest you check your game times the day before your scheduled competition. You can also check draws and results in the “Competitions” tab above. (look for the red button)
