The RedCity Roar and Redlands PCYC celebrated the 2018/2019 representative season with over 250 players, coaches, referees and parents attending the event, staged at the PCYC courts on Saturday night!¬†New RedCity Roar President Jason Fiddes,¬† introduced the new era for the association and General Manager Peter Pollock.¬† The event ran smoothly with new RedCity Roar Secretary Aaron White chairing the event and the Roar’s high performance coach and¬† management committee member, Jeremy Kendle, giving out the trophies.¬†Players were presented with their¬† trophies and coaches selected their “Most Valuable” and “Most Improved”¬† player awards.¬†¬†Jason Fiddes, documented each team and award recipient with photos, before members were treated to¬† a sneak preview of¬† the RedCity Roar uniforms for the the 2019/2020¬† rep season. It was received with rowdy roar, especially the shooting shirts!

There were some milestones for the club!¬†One hundred and fifty¬† pizzas were consumed!!¬†Ian “Bones” Hibberd was awarded “Coach of the Year” after taking his SBL team to the club’s first ever¬† senior Grand Final appearance.¬†But it was the standing ovation for Kirsten De Marchi as she walked to the lectern that was the highlight of the evening. Kirsten received the RedCity Roar’s first ever Life Membership. Kirsten has been the backbone of the club for many years as the Basketball Coordinator for the Redlands PCYC and went above and beyond in her role to ensure the club ran smoothly. She has been an integral part of the basketball landscape in Redlands and will continue to give guidance and share her knowledge in the changeover through to the end of 2019.¬†Congratulations Kirsten De Marchi!
